Whering: Your Digital Wardrobe 12+

Relevant, conscientious and fun app!

I was ‘influenced’ to try Whering when a blogger I follow (for clothes editing tips) recommended putting all your clothes onto it - to avoid repeat purchases etc. I’m so glad I did!! Now, whenever I’m tempted by sales or a ‘dopamine hit’ impulse buy, I check my Whering wardrobe to see whether I already have something similar (first). About 9/10 times, I don’t make the purchase and I no longer have buyer’s remorse..! Also, the outfits you can create, auto-generate and save, have helped me realise what I already have in my wardrobe and give me a fresh perspective on what to wear - I think this is referred to as ‘shopping my own wardrobe’. The ‘lookbooks' have also helped me match what I want to style that season/day with what I already own: again, helping me reduce my consumption of unnecessary clothes and accessories. Finally, the articles are really informed on current sustainable fashion practices. As well as being interesting to read, they make you feel like you’re part of a community doing good - whilst also reinforcing why it’s important to keep conscientious about your clothes use. I just love this app and have recommended it to all my friends!!

It’s Improving!

I’ve been using this app for about 9 months and I’m really enjoying it. They’ve added a lot more features since I first started using it which is great and improved some of the bugs. I find it insightful- especially the cost per wear feature which has definitely made me rewear things more often! There are a couple of things I’d still like to see improved though:
1. On the “most worn/least worn” section it gives you the option to filter by garment type, but if you click “Tops” for instance it makes you pick a sub category like polo shirts etc before it lets you view it so you can’t actually see all your least worn tops in one go, and to me that makes it pointless having the filter.
2. Once outfits are created there isn’t much you can do other than add them to days in your calendar. It would be good if you could filter by outfits you’ve worn or not worn, or even for the app to suggest outfits you’ve worn before so you don’t forget about them/have to scroll through all of them to find something that you could wear.
3. Sometimes adding an outfit to the planner doesn’t add to the “worn” count of an item so my stats are a bit inaccurate - I often have to check to make sure it’s been counted and manually change the times worn count myself.
4. I would like to be able to tag outfits for different seasons or weather or all year and filter by this so that I don’t have to scroll through all my winter outfits to get to summer ones or vice versa

Wonderful App!!

This app has been such a useful tool in my life and is not just for fashion influencers, it’s so easy to use and I have discovered so much about my purchasing and style habits over the past year I have used it. It’s a great way to really get the most out of your wardrobe as I have so many clothes, I often forget about some. With Whering, I am able to add hashtags to clothes I haven’t worn and incorporate them into by favourite outfits so easily. Being able to shuffle my items gives you outfit combinations you never would have thought of yourself and it have really helped me become more fashion conscious as I am challenging myself to buy more second hand clothes and I can easily see what percentage of my wardrobe is pre-loved. Being able to archive clothes when the seasons change is so helpful as I don’t get winter jumpers ending up in my summer rotation! Although it can take a while to upload all your items, once you have added them, it saves so much time and mess when getting ready. I have recommended this app to any and everyone who likes clothes and will continue to do so as it’s brilliant!
