I have downloaded this application to give it a second chance to get a better review, but I am afraid the updates in my opinion have not improved the application and as stated in your update comments you did introduce problems.
Rest assured I will not be downloading this application anymore. And my feedback will remain as is.
Graphics are good and application has a few configuration options. After many days of testing this application I found it still has some issues. For example the watch and phone weather status sometimes are not synchronised, even with same update time. Weather information server crashes. Scrolling issue took forever to fix. Similar costs as Carrot weather, with much less functionality. It is a very expensive for what you get as a weather application, other applications offer much more for your money. See weather mate Pro. This Application has been removed from my phone and watch. Subscription has been Refunded.
EDIT: Hello Steve, you got a refund, you say you uninstalled the app, and yet you seem to come back after every new update to give a two star review. I have troubles understanding this, if there is a specific problem, could you contact me at support@tomaskafka.com?
Hello Steve, thank you for notifying me about the problems. As the watch and iPhone apps are standalone, and I don’t want to store any location data on my server, each app is free to request forecast in slightly different time, and get a bit different result according to forecast or nowcast model’s latest data.
I apologize for a recent few hours long server outage, I have put more safeguards there to try to prevent this issue from happening again.
As for the “This application is not ranked …”, feedback, there are many weather apps, and not all can fit the visible places of the ranking (which is also different for each country). I think it would be unfair to require all upcoming apps to be at the visible positions of ranking - every new app starts somewhere lower.
I also disagree with the “No responses to my suggestions” part - so far I have written you six emails as replies to your feedback and remarks.
To be honest, it is not in my powers to respond to every email. I read every email, and have many of the things you asked for on my to-do list, but I prefer to invest the time into making the app better for everyone, instead of replying to every email, and letting the app underdeveloped.
I understand you are unhappy about the app and the price. I sent you the instructions on how to request a refund from Apple (developers are prevented from doing this directly) - it’s a matter of a few clicks, no questions asked.
I believe that the app is priced competetively, and below the price of many of the competitors. Please take into account that the app has to both pay for commercial forecast data, and for a development time, especially if it doesn’t show ads or track the users.
Best regards, Tomas
