Description
Watch Tuner Timegrapher is a mechanical (automatic or manual winding) watch testing application. It displays a frequency diagram of the watch and measures rate, beat error, amplitude and beats per hour.
The application uses the build-in or headset's microphone to record audible ticks of the watch.
Use this application in a quiet environment. Any ambient noise can affect result accuracy. Complete silence is the best however noise cancelling algorithm can help to eliminate not very loud sounds. The recommended way to record the ticks is to touch the crown of the watch with the headset (earplugs) microphone.
If you don't need the frequency diagram, look at Watch Tuner app.
If you want to test only the rate accuracy, try Watch Tuner Lite.

Ratings and Reviews
Neat app for troubleshooting and regulating mechanical watches
Worked well for me after a bit of perseverance with finding the best position for the mic (apple headphone mic). Essential to be in a quiet room and to experiment with the sensitivity setting. I was thinking of buying a timegrapher for £130, so this has saved me money and avoided the clutter of another device around the home. I am not a watch repair expert so cannot say whether it offers a true replacement for a timegrapher, but it is adequate for my needs as a hobbyist with a modest collection of vintage Smiths (Made in England) watches.
Excellent - but read on
This actually works amazingly well. Many of the reviews advocate strapping an AirPod to the watch case - don’t, it will magnetize the watch and is in any case ineffective. Just touch the crown to the phone mic and it works perfectly in a reasonably quiet environment on the default settings. Already used it to successfully tune up one watch which was way out of whack. I am impressed!
Saved me lots of money
I bought this app to try to save me buying a watch timeograph. I was sceptical that it would work properly or that I would know how to operate it. After fiddling with the app for a few minutes I was quickly able to adjust my Vostok Amphibia to less that +5 seconds a day. Result!
