As other reviewers have said - superb, when it works...
I have the same issues as other reviewers have. When this app works, it is superb - enabling me to watch one of my favourite sports (particularly since the amount of TV coverage in the UK has been drastically reduced, meaning that more often than not a match I wish to see is not on live TV). However, this morning the app crashed whilst connected from my iPad Air 2 (running iOS 11.4) to my Apple TV, just as the Canterbury v South Sydney match was about to start. I then got a message ‘Unable to connect to Apple TV’ - restarting both Apple TV and the app did not work. Although I was able to view the coverage on my iPad, the option to connect to Apple TV has disappeared. I have been able to install the Watch NRL app from Apple TV’s own App Store and am now viewing the match coverage without issue - but am wondering what has happened to Apple TV connectivity when trying to watch via Apple TV from the iPad app.
Brilliant when it works, a nightmare when it doesn’t!
I echo what a few other reviewers have already mentioned in that live channel watching can be infuriating as it skips or suddenly switches to a random game in the middle of the 1st half when I’m trying to watch 360!
Quite a few bugs overall including AppleTV/AirPlay playback being particularly problematic, especially when you’re up early to watch your team live and you spend 15 minutes trying to get it all working without crashing!
For £120 for the season I’ll be asking for a partial refund very soon if things don’t improve!
Not bad but plenty to improve
It’s great to be able to watch the NRL overseas, so thank you, but the app has some painful parts to it.
One thing that surely is easy to fix is the time tracker at the bottom and fast forward/rewind ‘buttons’. Using it online they’re great, they are large and it’s easy to use the slider to move forward or back and the forward and rewind work! In the app they’re all so tiny it’s extremely hard to even get the slider to register you’re touching it and you may as well not have the forward/rewind as they never work. Whenever I press the forward one it actually will revert back slightly so it just repeats what I just heard 🤦🏻♂️.
Is it possible to just use the setup used online in the app??
