Crashes more than a stuntman

Had this for a few years first for outdoors and now indoors while on my kickr but I’ve also used it on walks. The problem I seem to come across time and time again is when I set it going I (obviously) close my phone and when I open it again to check my progress or stop it on workout completion it hasn’t moved from when I locked my phone, it then does one of two things, catches up or crashes leaving me with no idea what my workout was. Only this morning I checked on my bike ride after an hour and half and it showed one minute for a while then caught up then shut down leaving me without a clue for the last half hour. I’ve given it three stars only because I’ve had it a long time and without contradicting myself it is quite good all round but the gamble on it working every time is really frustrating.

Used to be good: the 6.0 release hates me

I used to be a happy user of the wahoo app for cycling with devices like: cadence sensor, wheel-hub speed and an HRM. I liked the UI and the ability to have different profiles (road, CX, mountain biking) with different sensors for the profiles and, when uploading to Strava -the action after every ride- that profile would go with it and Strava would file accordingly. Until the new update. When I suddenly need to log on. Except I now need to reset my password. After which all devices have been forgotten about: all cycling profiles replaced with stuff like yoga. And all the devices forgotten about. Devices whose pairing/discovery seems broken. Instead we have a home page with blog posts and an attempt to create a community. Which shows they are trying to copy Garmin and imagine that they can have a single vendor community rather than Strava and Zwift as the centres of the universe. Well, they can try, *but did they have to lose all my devices?*. I really don't know what to do. I think I'll try to pair directly with Strava. And if that doesn't work raise support issues with wahoo. And if that doesn't work: return my most recent pair of cadence/speed sensors on the basis that if they want to break everything then the broken stuff gets sent back

Hardware great, Software poor

I bought a Tickr X to replace my old Tickr, mainly because I wanted the freedom to record workouts without my phone. I hadn’t trained over the past 14 months due to an injury, but am now at the stage where training is possible again and the past experience with Tickr (albeit mainly with Strava). Initially all was good until I started getting missing data or the HRM refused to connect with the app. Customer support was really good in that after working through some solutions, they sent out a new Tickr X as the problems weren’t resolving. However, problems have persisted with the new unit and I’ve started to use another app to record my workouts (although frustratingly, I now have to have my phone with me!). This seems crazy that a company can’t get their own hardware and software to play together, and fairly much negates the reason for buying the X over the basic Tickr. If it wasn’t for the issues, this review would be 5 stars - the hardware is great, and the app interface good, my experience of customer support has been excellent. The bottom line is though, that a potentially brilliant package is unreliable and now unused due to the app connectivity issues.
