Vimeo Create 4+

Giving this a one is being very generous!

In response to developers, after your reply I decided to give it a chance and I stand corrected! It’s not nice at all! It’s very buggy to the point of frustration!

It crashes a lot!

You attempt to create a video, go away from your iPad, it goes to sleep and when you get back to your video it ask if you’d like to continue from where you were, you select yes, make changes then attempt to export your completed project and viola, unable to export video error!

Today I created a new video, try to export it and it just sits there! 0% never uploads the assets.

Create a video in portrait layout with portrait clips, decided to change one clip for another portrait clip and it puts a blank area at the top on the screen with the clip at the bottom completely ignoring the fact that all the other clips are full screen!

You save a video, then try to download it, you only get two options, 360x640 the biggest and 240x426. Close the app, open it straight away, select the same saved video click download and you now have 5x options, 1080x1820 the biggest.

As for the business card layout, you guys own Magisto, which I have subscribed to for two years now, look at your product to see how the two compare! They got it right!

Sorry but to subscribe and pay over £600 per year for this, is highway robbery and not good value for money.

As for the download resolution - it usually takes a few minutes for the HD result to render, so it is possible that when you attempted to download the video - the HD version was not yet rendered and this is why you were offered the 360x640 version.

Ok, in free mode it works great. Short clips, about 20 seconds I’d say without timing it. But great for quick posts to Vimeo only.
To avoid the way overpriced Pro mode just press the X to close that nag window. You can only post to Vimeo but that’s ok if you tell your friends where to find your videos.
As for the Pro mode nagging. £25 quid a month? Seriously? That’s way over priced. Way way over priced. £5 might be better, but even as a multi-zero income business I’d have to expect some epic returns on that kind of outlay. And what returns? The market is stuffed chock full already. No thanks.
So don’t be put off, the basic app works fine. It’s social media in the end, right? You are not going to put an epic Dr Zhivago film up there are you. 20 Seconds is way long enough.
4 stars because it’s pretty good in basic mode, dropping a star because of the stupid pricing for Pro mode and the nag screens.

You can create and download beautiful videos with our free version. The free version supports videos creation of up to 30 seconds - just make sure you choose one of our free Templates or Styles (those without the PRO sticker on them). Videos made with our free version have our watermark on them so check this option is enabled.


As for the Pro pricing - Upgrading to Vimeo Pro (or higher) will allow you to remove the watermark, use Pro templates & Styles, access the Stock library and do a lot more. In addition - on top of the Pro features available on Vimeo Create, you will also be able to access other Pro features available on Vimeo. Update: I updated my review because it’s obviously a bug and I feel bad now lol. Still, the bugs need to be sorted.

This app stressed me out no end. I was making a video, took 20 minutes on it, clicked off the app to get some info for my video and when I go back on it has closed what I was working on. Comes up with a message “you have an unsaved video do you want to carry on editing” press yes and it takes me to my video drafts, where the video I was making is not there. Annoying but I started again. I looked for a save draft button but couldn’t see one. Clicked off the app to get an image and after working on this video for an hour the same thing has happened and I can’t get it back 😭 such a waste of my time
