ViCare 4+

As a new user and with a brilliant new 200-W I am lost. Coming from Hive I am getting used to no room thermostat but the app is so clunky and confusing. Simple functions such as turning off the heating if I open the windows in the morning to air the house take a few clicks and then I have to repeat to re-activate. How do I boost the heating without having to set a new time period and then remove it? How do you switch off or stop or override Summer Eco? The only way I have found is to create a comfort period from now and then delete it again otherwise it happens at some day time every week. You can see I am either missing something fundamental but I have been searching for weeks. Also what does ‘extended heating’ do as a shortcut? Apparently nothing on our system - and I want hot water seems a little unnecessary on a combi-boiler? Would be good to create our own shortcuts as in many scripting platforms in the IoT world. Love the boiler though - totally in love with the tech - please sort out the app or bang my head on the wall so it all comes clear 🙂

Nice idea but unreliable and annoying to use. Originally I could switch the heating and water off, now all of a sudden I only have heating off option???? When I was able to choose between heating only hot water only or both, it would let me choose it but then going out of the app it would revert back to whatever mode it had been on. If there is an internet issue or a power cut obviously I lose connection so it then means I cannot control my boiler unless I do it manually which is extremely complicated as there not only is there no immediately obvious display but once you get past this issue, it’s not easy to navigate as it only has symbols that may be obvious to the makers and engineers but it’s frustrating and stressful that you can’t just switch your heating on or off easily. The app is not easy to use and it doesn’t have enough operating options but right now I cannot understand why I now don’t have heating on/off option hot water on/off both option or one or the other option as it’s just disappeared and now the only way I can think of to try and resolve this is to delete the app and reinstall or call the engineer, which then causes other issues ie disconnection from the Wi-Fi that causes other issues in itself. Not happy at all atm!
I also need the app to allow me to change the temperature setting, app is antiquated

Hey Soulls1, sorry for the inconvenience. We have introduced special changes in which we have separated the heating and DHW mode settings. The active DHW mode can now be selected in the DHW tile #WeCare

This app is underpowered. It allows me to do all the things I do periodically - check system status, change time settings etc. It doesn’t easily enable me to turn the heating on an off. The ability to change between heat settings (reduced, normal and comfort) temporarily until the next time phase would be incredibly useful and as far as I can see it pretty basic. It does allow me to go back to the previous heating phase, but being able to temporarily change the heat setting would be muc more useful.
