Finally! An archive manager that works.
Archive utilities are a bit of a minefield. Most are barely fit for purpose, full of ads and pop-ups. Fewer still on the Mac allow you to browse archives, dumbong down the interface to simple extraction in most cases.
Unarchiver one has quickly become my main archive utility, it's ridiculously easy to use yet not over simplified, allows extraction and compression from and to myriad formats and most importantly enables quick and easy browsing of archives and extraction of individual files. Good job Trend Micro.
Just like WinRAR
Coming from Windows I’m used to using WinRAR, 7zip etc. All Windows archiving utilites follow the same paradigm, one application that allows you to view the contents of the archive and extract some or all the files to a particular directory and the ability to open a file in the archive by double clicking it, using quicklook in this case. Most archiving utilties on OSX have seperate apps for viewing the archive and extracting it. If not one app that only does the latter.
Dr. Unarchiver works just like WinRAR or 7Zip and thus is my favourite archiving utility.
Incredibly simple and no-nonsense

Very impressed. Very refreshing to find something that does exactly what it says it will do and with zero fuss of interruptions to persuade you to upgrade or buy a subscription or to force an offer down your throat.
