Not as good as it used to be!
I have had the App for several years but disappointingly it certainly isn’t as good as it used to be.
Unless you are following the URC or Internationals the commentary is nothing like it used to be. Other competitions (Premiership, Top 14) you just basically get told about replacements and a score. Even when cards awarded etc.. never told what it is for. Certainly can’t follow a game the way you used to be able to.
Player profiles don’t seem to be updated regularly, often no profile pictures and outdated information.
Also disappointing that don’t really seem to be doing enough in terms of profiles etc… for the Women’s game.
Used to recommend to friends as felt best App out there but don’t any longer because of the standard.
Just had my subscription renewal notice and told it is going up £5! On the basis I don’t think it is even as good as it was 3-4yrs ago never mind them making improvements for the extra money certainly won’t be paying more and renewing!
Really disappointed!
The end has come
I have been using this app for a number of years and was very pleased with it until now. The latest update, downloaded today, does not seem to work as I would expect.
The main problem relates to the configuration, my interests are to international rugby so I would like to only show international competition and certain teams eg England. However it seems that this is no longer possible but did work in previous versions. Also the display changed, possibly when I signed up for the free subscription, and is now illegible. Initially I could see the games by date but now it seems it is by competition, dates please.
Initially it showed a number of competitions, eg MLR, for which I have no interest even took a while to work out what it was.
You need to sort out the configuration part of the app so we can see that we are interested in.
If it is not sorted within the 14 days I think I will have no option but to cancel my subscription as for me it is not usable in its current form.

Relegated
Have never written a review on the App Store before but am bitterly disappointed by the developers on this. Used to rely on this for all my rugby watching knowledge. Good range of information and nicely laid out. Unfortunately the vast majority of information is now only available with a monthly or annual subscription, and the price they’re trying to charge is extortionate for the function of the app. I’m sure a lot of hard work has been put into this app and I would happily pay a reasonable fee for it up front, but will never pay a recurring subscription for rugby team sheets and stats. To add insult to injury the functionality left in the free version of the app has been so heavily reduced to tempt people into paying, and the subscription ads are so intrusive, I don’t think I have any use for Ultimate Rugby anymore. Unfortunately I’m not aware of anything else that compares to the previous app, but as previous reviewers have commented, most of the information that used to be there was a simple google search away anyway.
