UFO Tesla Model Y
We wanted to use a model Y for a whole day so we could decide whether it would work for us before buying one.
At very short notice I arranged to rent one for a day from Canary Wharf.
The whole thing was pretty seamless from start to finish. I would highly recommend UFO rental and would use again.
By the way we loved the car and will be ordering one.

Really good service car arrived as stated and I was informed. Car instructions were generally fine but for someone who has not used an electric car there is some info missing. Charging the car is tricky as there is a choice of chargers and it is not clear which one is fast and which slow. Does not explain how to disconnect when you have charged enough. Went to 2 charging point one on the a12 where the car was the wrong way round for the charge cable to reach and it is not possible to turn the car round as it is a duel carriage way. The second charging point was in a pay car park (Newbury park) everything else was good the car did the mileage it was listed to do ( I was driving slightly slower 60-65 max)
Would recommend
Good app could be perfect
The app is effective for a single driver but really complicates the driving experience if you have additional drivers (e.g., a spouse, a friend) who would be sharing the rental with you but running the app on different phones and access the car separately.
Changes I would recommend:
- make it obvious somewhere in the app interface whether the key is on this phone or another phone, already *before* the rental car is picked up
- make it easy and intuitive in the app to switch the key to another phone - I shouldn’t have to contact customer service for this
- make it easy to check if the additional driver that I added has been properly added to the rental and has the required documentation verified
- make it possible to add your spouse to all rentals as default, so I don’t have to remember to tap on additional drivers and enter in her phone number each time
- update the rental contract that appears in the app when you pick up the car to automatically add in additional drivers - i have to “sign” this before driving away the car and need to know we’re all authorized to drive the vehicle!!
