Only if this worked!

I purchased a brand new jeep renegade in July 16, one of the reasons I purchased this car was for uconnect live... oh dear what a mistake... I first tried to get the app to work with my iPhone 6... it worked for a day then wouldn’t connect. A few months later I changed phones to the iPhone 7 tried again nothing! Spoke to jeep dealer they weren’t interested! Spoke to jeep customer services they weren’t interested either. In 2 years the things only connected once. Absolute garbage. Every time they release a bug fix my hopes are raised! Then dashed.... I can’t wait to get rid of the car next year... never again jeep. Connected services are a massive market in cars now and you really need to go back to the drawing board and redesign the whole thing if you are pushing it... #uconnect/disconnect

Really poor service from FIAT

Firstly let me start by saying this is not necessarily a criticism of the programmers who are probably just doing what fiat have told them to do.

That said:

My app stopped working following an upgrade (so called) in December 2022.

Late January 2023 a pop up appears suggesting this app is discontinued and a new app is on the way.

THIS IS A BLATANT LIE!

I have waited patiently and have found out the following correct at 23 March 2023 source fiat customer services chat and local fiat dealerships.

There is no plan at all to make the app work with my 66 plate 500x. If I want it to work then presumably (and I am guessing since even dealers do not know) I will have to buy a new set!

While the previous to upgrade which broke the app/interface was not great it worked. Receiving an upgrade to break some to force owners to purchase a replacement or dealer work is just scans less. What is lost is not trivial if you used it and appreciated it.

FIAT/programmers

Please can you reconsider redirecting the old app so it will work.

Newsflash cost of living crises people need to hold on to their older cars. If you have functionality in the new cars then make a different app or options in the app for backwards compatibility.

Other drivers

Sorry if you believed the message on this app that leads to false hope, I hope they changer their mind but the info is correct at the time of posting this.

Terrible experience

Worst car app I’ve ever had to work with. Couldn’t register it on iPhone. Eventually registered through Fiat Website. When I tried to add a car through the website, it would not accept the car registration number with error message ‘wrong VIN’. Put VIN in, as this was the other option, vehicle’s details all correct except it said the car was manufactured in 1970. Impossible to correct this so the website rejected it. Used the log in details to access Uconnect -‘Sorry Service Unavailable Currently’. Tried several times and eventually connected, then the same error message appeared and I could do nothing. I have wasted hours on a very poorly designed website and app. Fiat get a competent company to write some decent software for you app and website so you don’t waste people’s time.
