UBL Digital - Safe Banking 4+

I have used many apps. I’m also customer of HSBC UK, SABB bank Saudi Arabia, Wise and Revolut but this app is by far the best of them all by miles. It’s truly unbelievable that you have an app like this for a bank Pakistan. UBL’s practices itself are orthodox and riddled with bureaucratic style dealings and they mess you around like any other bank in Pakistan but this app masks all that with its exceptional user interface. Thanks and hats off to the guys who have worked on this. truly this app is incredible!

I have had the worst experience ever with the UBL mobile application and enabling net banking services over the last few days. The final stage of the app registration process requires scanning documents for verification or contacting customer support. Despite using an iPhone 14, which has a high-quality camera, the app rejected the images every time, stating that it could not extract the required information.

I then resorted to contacting customer support. Unfortunately, the representative was unable to resolve the issue and informed me that someone else would handle it. I have been using online banking services from other banks for over 20 years and have never had to contact customer services as many times as I did in this case. Additionally, making and receiving calls on a Pakistani registered number while on international roaming from the UK has been very costly for me.

Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the UBL bank and their mobile application and the customer service experience.

Suggestions:

Nick name- the app should allow you to edit nicknames for the account, this will be useful with having multiple accounts.

Notifications- Stay on top of your cash by setting up notifications in the app. It’s a great way to keep update with your finances.

Cheques- Pay in cheques to your current account using the app and your smartphone’s camera. This can be done by adding amount and payee details, take a photo of the cheque, tap 'Submit' and the money will be in account.

Statement- For high security, monthly statements should be stored within App using secured cloud within App. Sending it via customer's emaill address could be unsafe.

Live chat within App- User can securely contact within the App instead of website.

Set a saving goal — User can set a desired amount and a time by which they want to save it.

Scheduled bills and payments-Make sure that customers can schedule bill payments to individuals or businesses and choose the frequency of money transactions, for instance weekly, monthly, or yearly
