Update: To the devs. I really appreciate that you took time to respond to my review and hopefully a few things will change. That instills a lot of confidence in the product and the developer/s. I really think you have an amazing product. A few tweaks and it’s golden.

Original review:
Negative first: This app displays fake weather data but it’s not actually obvious unless you read the blurb. So even though it’s actual data, it’s not from your location!!! This app used to display limited free data but now there is nothing. The issue is people will not always understand the preview tag in the corner and they think this is their actual data causing them to fly under dangerous situations!!. I know this for a fact because I have just heard from two people who thought the fake data was actual data.

Positive: I actually think the app itself is well done and I would pay for it but…. People complain about the subscription cost and that is because nobody wants to pay high prices. If the developers read this and want to make this app more popular. Drop all these hobby vs pro prices and just have one subscription fee of 8.99 per year or 2.99 per 3 months. That is the rate weather pro uses and they are very successful in their subscriber base. Everyone will then subscribe and nobody will be complaining. Oh and remove the fake data or make it more obvious it’s fake. Less is more!

Great app for drone pilots

Seems to work ok for me. I would give 5 stars but if I give it 4 then the app will get even better with updates in the future. I have purchased the annual subscription due to me liking the app so much. This is on my “check before flying” list to make sure my drone will come home if it takes to the air. 👍👍👍

Used to be a great app

UAV Forecast used to be an amazing app for finding local statistics, for drone flight, even with the limited free data, it was great for understanding the safety of a location, but ever since the app incorporated emphasis onto subscription plans, the quality of the service has exponentially declined, favouring additional and extraneous monthly monetisation over providing a decent application, regardless.

By all means, you should support developers, especially independent ones, for their devotion when producing genuinely useful products, but to degrade the experience for long-term users simply due to their inability to cost the expense for a monthly plan is disgusting.

If you can afford the plans, I’d 100% recommend it, but simultaneously, as personally not being able to and unwilling to support a developer who neglects long time users, I won’t be returning until serious changes are considered and implemented.
