Editors’ Choice

Twofold Inc. is an absolutely brilliant puzzle game from the developer behind rymdkapsel. Everything shines, from the charming animations to the whimsical sound effects; as you chain coloured tiles to clear evolving challenges, you’ll be amazed at the polish. But the best part of the game is the puzzle mechanics themselves: stringing together tiles feels like an irresistible mix of Threes, Bejeweled and even Tetris. Twofold Inc. is always enjoyable, highly accessible and endlessly replayable.

Charming puzzle game

There is a lot to like about this game. The mechanics are satisfying and the art style is charming. The game has the addictive quality that all good iOS puzzlers have. On top of that there are no in-app purchases or obtrusive ads to spoil the experience.

My only major criticism is that it can be very hard to recover when things go wrong in the game. Often the most fun moment in a puzzle game is the moment you look like you are about to lose but you find a way out. Those moments do happen occasionally, but there are also moments where it feels like the game has decided to put you in a scenario that you can't get out of.

Overall though it is a great game. Buy it if you like games like Drop7 or Threes!

Gameplay needs work

Bought this on the basis of the App Store editorial. Nice concept, but having tried a few different tactics, it still seems too dependent on luck. Interesting mix of reviews - are others finding a better way to play, or are they satisfied with the game ending quickly most of the time?

Agree with one review that the game would be greatly improved if the bottom reserves filled up more quickly. Then you could make better use of spare moves. That would provide a better balance between skill and luck.
