Description

Defining the future of Virtual Sport

TrainingPeaks Virtual is first and foremost a community of people who share a vision of what online cycling and esports could be.

- Where your tactics and skills as a bike rider matter. Whether it's your positioning in a bunch or getting into a breakaway, your choice of cornering speed, or your judgements about when to sit in or attack with the wind, it is your decisions, and not just your power, that should materially affect the outcome of every race.

- Where the results are credible. Whether it is through built in performance verification, dual recording, encrypted protocols, or realistic physics and speeds, it is essential that what you see and experience with your own eyes is the same as everyone else; complete accuracy, precision and consistency of results and legitimate proven athletic ability.

Through a fully integrated esports platform, the world's leading performance verification system, fully configurable events & results systems, custom team kit and team management tools, streaming and broadcast modes, skinnable UIs, graphics and maps, and so much more, we are defining the future of virtual sport.

Just purchased cycle one month plan - perfect for miserable winter weather. Like the way it automatically loads the session to follow - zero faff.
Ability to download completed activity automatically to garmin (like Zwift) would be good.
For me graphics and group rides not quite as good as Zwift.

Needs attention

Great app overall, but it could use some improvements (the interface feels a bit childish). I've been using TrainerRoad since I started indoor cycling, and it's been amazing. I decided to try TPVir, especially since it's currently free.
1. Once you start a workout, there's no way to cancel it without saving. Even if you discard it, the session still gets uploaded to TrainingPeaks.
2. It would be great to have an option to complete workouts without the virtual cycling experience—just numbers on a black screen, similar to TrainerRoad.
3. The 'Take a Break' functionality isn't working as expected; it adds the time off the bike to the total workout duration.
Aside from these points, the app seems promising in terms of features, but I find the interface challenging to use.

Shows promise

I installed this to look at an activity I performed a day earlier on dedicated PC in the garage. Interface looks similar to PC app but the activity that shows on the PC is not showing here. Why not?

I have a Zwift subscription and sometimes crave for the more interesting scenery of Zwift. Setting 4k looks much easier on the eye on my 43 inch screen.

Generally this is amazing for the amount of time it has taken to come to market. Some of the GUI is actually better than Zwift. I certainly wouldn’t call it a Zwift beater just yet though!
