Generate audio signals with this handy app. Control the volume, waveform and frequency in real time with no pops or clicks. Tap the values to enter directly using the keyboard.
The app also includes an audio extension instrument to be used within AUv3 compatible audio software. The instrument audio unit can even respond to MIDI notes from the software host!
Use it for:
- Testing audio equipment
- Checking acoustics
- Help relaxation and concentration with the white/pink noise
- Tuning instruments
- Science experiments
- Testing hearing
Features:
- Includes audio instrument extension to use in Logic Pro, GarageBand and other AUv3 compatible music software
- The AUv3 instrument can respond to MIDI notes
- Anti alias feature to remove false harmonics from triangle and sawtooth waveforms
- Smooth volume and frequency control, no clicks or pops changing between modes
- Set volume and frequency with sliders or tap the value to enter using the keyboard
- Visual display of generated waveform that responds to volume and frequency in real time
Waveforms:
- Sinewave
- Triangle
- Sawtooth
- White noise
- Pink noise
Produces frequencies in the audio range, 20Hz to 20,000Hz

Tone Generator
The title is correct - if all you want to do is generate a tone. Disappointingly what none of the documentation states though is what frequency range you will be able to generate tones in and if you can save the tones you generate - which was what I was after. It can only generate tones within a range from 20Hz to 20kHz, not 25kHz and above which was what I wanted and it is unable to save/export any tones thus generated. Whilst it does everything is says on the tin, meaning that I don’t feel that the ‘0’ stars that I would otherwise have awarded it are fair, I do think that the designers should state exactly what it is capable of and perhaps extend it with a wider range and the ability to save/export the tones. If that was done I would be more than happy to spend my money on it.
Could be a lot better
Graphs only work for sine. Would be really nice if you could overlay a couple of generated signals to show waveform overlap.
Excellent little app!
Excellent little app. Does everything I need it to perfectly!
