TeamViewer Remote Control 4+

Teamviewer installation is relatively easy and straightforward.

The problem came when I tried to get my desktop Mac to wake from sleep. An internet search came up with many references; however, the ones I checked were dated, and bore little resemblance to the Settings option on the current version of Ventura. Even Apple’s information was out of date. However, with trial and error I managed to sort out the wake-up problem.

Remote control of my Mac is now a breeze! It is fast. It is slick. And it handles secondary displays with ease. The ability to zoom is especially helpful when connecting from an iPhone. Especially reassuring is the ability to connect remotely without having to bypass the firewall in the router.

Every time they release an update they remove some functionality of the app. It’s now no longer possible to change the screen resolution when connecting from ios to computer. The mouse pointer is no longer accurate meaning what you see on your remote device is actually a few pixels out of what is happening on the host computer, meaning that you need to click a few pixels beyond the area where you want to click - otherwise you’ll be making a lot of unintentional clicks and wasting time having to reverse unintentional clicks eg closing the wrong app, minimising the wrong window, selecting the wrong option from the file menu etc.

also there are now more warning messages that you should only use this for home use before you can begin your session and when you leave the session which you need to click on before you can continue.

This app was once great years ago but they’ve gradually stripped away all the unique functionality and the implementation of tools that made Teamviewer a standout app. It’s now just as bad as the other free remote log in apps you can find.

Was using TeamViewer for many years, at work and for personal use. It was a stable reliable product. Unfortunately now I am moving to another platform for personal use as recently got a message “Commercial use detected”..and can’t use it anymore at all. All connections are blocked and useless message is displayed that I can try to connect again in a few minutes but it still doesn’t work.

I had less then 10 devices and was using TeamViewer 2-3 times a month to connect to the same pc.. what commercial use? So now I lost an ability to connect to my parents pc to help them and will need to have a 2 hours flight just to replace TeamViewer on their machine with another product.

No issues of company decided to limit/revoke access but would be great to get some advance notice about that..
