This app is a labor of love created by a mother and her two kids. I handle the programming, while my kids provide invaluable user feedback. We’re always improving the app and welcome your suggestions!

WHY WE CREATED TALLYCOIN

As a parent, I wanted to teach my two kids about work ethics and personal finance from an early age. When they were just 3 years old, I started giving them opportunities to earn "coins" by doing chores around the house. In our home, setting the table earned 1 coin, and loading the washing machine was worth 2 coins. My kids would then spend their earned coins on things they wanted (except candy!). This system helped them learn important lessons about income, expenses, savings, and the value of hard work.

To manage chores and rewards, we initially used pen and paper, whiteboards, and various tally apps. While these options worked to some extent, they often lacked the ease and flexibility we needed. That’s why we created TallyCoin.
