Spin — Electric Scooters 17+

Went and gave these ago today to see what the hype was and really enjoyed getting out and using it. Unfortunately my husband purchased his ride pass and the timer started immediately and we were at home and didn’t realise it would start straight away so we had a lot less time when we found some scooters. It would be better if the timer started when you hit let’s ride to get the time you actually pay for.

Went to use group ride function, got two scooters, both were immobilized on me immediately (wasn’t in a no ride area), ended the ride, went to get one just myself and my friend got a lime scooter, worked ok, went to park it, my friends lime was so easy to park, they secured it and left with no hassle. The spin app was stuck on some loop where it thought I still wanted a group ride, it was also terrible with saying I couldn’t park my spin scooter in this location (even though I counted 6 other spin scooters parked there and it offered 50c for me to park there in ride credit) I ended up having to spend about 10min both riding further to find somewhere to park and then actually figuring a way to end my “group ride”, app was incredibly bugged out, was there no user testing of this group ride feature? Anyways long story short don’t use this app, my friend had such an easy fun time scooting around on a different app arriving on time while I just was left with a headache leaving me arriving late and frustrated :(

We tried them with my partner a few times. It’s great idea and it’s fun I can see using them for work. Only few issues is. The limit of scooters in out town. They get parked on random places. They need to be specific parking places for them so you know where to look. We’ve notice people keep them in they gardens. Which is lot fair for the other users. As app says is one nearby by it’s actually is someone’s house. They need allocate parking spaces for them and you can only leave them there not everywhere you can specially with kids using them.
