Teamfight Tactics in a Nokia 3310 world

This game is excellent! The unit drafting mechanic of an auto battler meets an old school mobile phone style drive your snake game. The graphics are minimalist but to me that adds to the charm. The controls are smooth and reasonably intuitive.

Quick overview- You build your parts of the snake to do different things: Attack, Shoot Arrows, Heal, Buff etc., then take on waves of enemy bugs trying to ram or shoot your snake. When you buy more of the same unit type it levels up and gets more health and damage and eventually powerful special abilities (tip: having multiple level 1 or 2 of the same unit does nothing extra, they are only more powerful when they first get to level 2 and 3). Plus each unit is of a “family” and getting multiple units from the same family gives bonuses. For example having a 3 warriors gives all your warriors more defence.

The game has a lot of replayability even after defeating the last wave of baddies as you get to move on to multiple new game+ the waves get harder but you are also allowed more sections of your snake allowing for more synergies! I also found it fun to replay on the same difficulty and try different unit combinations. I personally found NG+2 about the right balance of difficulty to replay the most. This is well worth the money and has a number of updates coming up based on the PC version of the game which only increases the enjoyment. Check it out!

Brilliant idea, one major issue

I just bought this game on my iPad Air, and despite being very impressed with the gameplay, I’ve run into a very irritating issue. I have attempted two runs so far, and both have ended with me accidentally pressing the restart button while in the shop. The reason for this is the restart button sits under the sell area for some reason, so when I drag up a unit to sell it, releasing the unit on the left half of the sell area triggers the restart button, and I lose my run. I hope this can be resolved, and I can give this game the 5* it otherwise deserves!

Fun replayable game

Really enjoying the game. I’ve played it quite a bit and I’m enjoying a lot of the different possible team combinations and the increased difficulty of new game+.

One downside seems to be that it doesn’t seem to handle being in the background properly and requires a hard reset of the app anytime I lock my phone or switch to another app. Not a deal breaker but a bit annoying.
