Smile App Launcher 17+

Clean and does the job well!

It’s the only free minimalist app launcher on iOS, so automatically a huge plus. It was genuinely easy to set up, the way it utilises Apple Shortcuts is clean and quick, and I really like the customisation options.

It feels a lot less overwhelming to look at my homescreen - I didn’t even realise I was overwhelmed by it until I changed it!

(Old text: In the future I’d love to see more than 2 widget “pages” being available, but despite that, this is already helping me avoid mindlessly opening apps and scrolling. I manually search for apps I don’t need.)

Thank you for making this app, I hugely appreciate your time. It’s made my phone nicer.

Fantastic

Thank you for making an app that just does the minimalist launcher for free. Does what it says on the tin well (reducing motion in settings makes it look good)

I have some suggestions from my experience using it:

1) make the app name blank. Currently the widget has the app name “smile” under it which I think doesn’t look as clean

2) add an empty widget for spacing so that the app launcher widget is lower down on the screen

3) personally - I just got the update and I prefer the old UI. I thought it was cleaner, less overwhelming and fits the minimalist theme. But this is just my preference, and functionality wise the new UI still does everything.

1) I will try to apeal to the Apple Gods and see what I can do.. I know its annoying and some other apps have gotten their way around it.. but also if I remove the label, the app becomes hard to find in your phone because you wont be able to search for it anymore.. Right now atleast you can search for Smile, so its kinda both pro's and cons'
1) in ios 18 you can turn of the labels, if you want :P So hopefully you will be able to do that once you upgrade!

2) There are 5 widgets in total, you can choose to have them empty if you want to!

3) im Glad to get some feedback on the IU, I will take it into consideration when updating in the future - The old UI had some limited functionalities, so it was not because I wanted to upgrade, it just kinda happened whops.

Perfect app

This app (I’d argue) works better than the big paid alternatives such as dumbphone and is completely free. I’m convinced that he made this app simply because he wanted to use it himself and didn’t want to pay for it and I’m incredibly grateful that he made it free to use.
