SimpleMind Pro - Mind Mapping 4+

This review is long overdue as i have been happily using Simplemind since 2017. This is the best tool for collating thoughts around any given subject. If it gets too big you can create a sub map and link that too. You can also link to web pages, (including your own Google docs) which is great for keeping track of research, or expanding notes. I use it for planning books - both fiction and factual. Works just as well on your phone as on a desktop. In fact I very rarely use my desktop version as most of the time I am capturing thoughts on the go. By saving the outline in Adobe on your phone, you can then export a pdf which can be opened in Google docs and converted to a editable document either a Google Doc or Microsoft Word. If you have a desktop version as well you can sync the map itself with Google Drive. I’ve never had any issues with this. It really is a great tool, I wouldn’t be without it.

If I have to get all my thoughts down this is the tool I use. Thirty minutes with this and I have a clear view of a situation. It then is invaluable for turning those thoughts into a plan or a document. The outline and slideshow modes are helpful when turning your own mind map into something you want to communicate with others.

It’s also very easy to learn and the software takes care of as much or as little of the formatting as you like so it doesn’t get int he way of capturing your thoughts quickly.

I typically use the iPad version but the iPhone version is very usable as a way to capture items which can be finessed later on the iPad or Mac.

After looking at and trying a few apps to produce a Roadmap/Flow Chart for a work project, I decided on SimpleMind Pro. I tried the app and then purchased the full version and, I must say, it’s fantastic.

Within the free version of the app it lists the main Pro features, should you want to upgrade. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are actually a lot more features and adjustments you are able to make once you’ve upgraded than was initially listed.

I love the clean, easy to use interface and you have the option to sync your work to Dropbox, One Drive, Google Drive and you can also save it to iCloud too.
You also have the option to print you work directly from within the app. It doesn’t appear to auto save content, but as long as you know how to save, or update and save a piece of work, it’s not a problem.

A great app which I would personally recommend to anyone needing a nice, easy to use, feature packed app for making flow charts or brainstorming sessions.
