Really easy to ise
I have been using Sider for the last month and found it to be an indispensable application for helping me in all sorts of tasks
Waste of money
I recently subscribed to Sider to fully utilize its features, expecting a high level of functionality. However, when I tried to upload a small document of only eight pages for a summary, I was met with an error message: “Try to reduce the number of pages.” This was frustrating and surprising, especially for a paid service.
In comparison, free platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity easily handled the same document and provided an excellent summary. Based on my experience, a subscription to ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar platforms offers much better value, even if slightly more expensive. Moreover, these services often offer reduced rates for academic or organizational subscriptions, adding to their accessibility and appeal.
Additionally, platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini allow seamless use across mobile and desktop without extra charges or limitations on searches.

OSX Desktop app in fault
The stand alone desktop app doesn’t work either with Chrome or Brave as sign in window. It actually causes faulty behaviour that requires a machine restart.
It makes the browser window foreground against all open windows. Behaviour that doesn’t clear just by restarting that browser.

Other aspects of constructive criticism are to do with management of thread history.
There isn’t anything very useful.
Sharing of threads across browsers or machines isn’t possible even though signed in. That should be under user control.
Comparing different engines: although many are available there is no sensible means by which they can be compared. Some framework and different sorts of metrics are needed here.
All the engines need some way of being “self critical” and also of showing what they have learnt from the user and if, when or where that knowledge will be reused.
It is interesting that in the end has not been able to solve complex open source software build issues for me that would require specialist level knowledge. In fact often gives wrong advice.
Why 4 stars then?
Because it is still very useful.
