Description
iMac screen is too bright for sensitive eyes. Shades is the solution. Shades is the utility for controlling the brightness of your iMac screen. When you use the iMac at night, you might find it is too bright for your eyes even though you have turned the screen to the darkest setting. This app comes to help. It makes really easy for you to change the screen to the darkest mode. It will make the screen much more comfortable to use. The app does not support the shades if other apps run in fullscreen mode.

Best app by far! Very easy on the eyes, in fact i have this turned on during the day now and makes using the retina mac a pleasure with this app even with the brightness up…

Works Excellently but not on Two Screens
This software works very well on my MacBook Pro 13” which has one display and dims the screen easily and works well and has had no problems at all. I would have given this app five stars but when I use it on my Mac Pro which has two displays it only dims the “Primary” display and the secondary display is left at full brightness. Other than that it is a brilliant app and well worth the money.
Exactly what was requuired.
This dims the screen so much so as to be virtually black with little light emitting at all. It does make me wonder why Apple didn't extend their brightness tool to this lower range.
Very good buy for if you've got a partner who is trying to sleep and you are finishing off some work, etc.
