What’s New
Version 2.0.1
Modified the Fahrenheit temperature display to not feature any decimals, since that's how they are displayed in the Home app as well. Fixed some typos.
Ratings and Reviews
Limited sensor support
If you have a sensor that detects multiple elements like ewelink which tracks temperature and humidity the app defaults to one element only and cannot be changed.
Extremely disappointed in this app.
First failure, it does not allow you to show the sensors embedded within the HomePod mini. They just don’t appear in the list. Second failure, when showing a Hive thermostat the value shown is the value the thermostat is set to heat to, not the current temperature. Really a shame because the widget design is top notch, but really not a good app.
Temperature sensors as widgets
This app does exactly what I was looking for - the ability to display the temperature from an Eve Weather sensor as a Home Screen widget. In this respect, it does the job perfectly and I have no complaints.
Some suggestions to improve the app and make it 5 stars:
- Ability to display multiple metrics on a single widget. For example, Eve Weather has temp and humidity, so it would be nice to display both metrics on the same widget.
- Different sized widgets. Ability to have medium and large sized widgets to display data from multiple sensors in a larger widget. Only small is available currently.
- Display metrics in the app. The app asks you to open it fairly regularly in order that it can update the widget, fair enough, this is the way iOS works. But it would be nice if, when you opened the app, that you actually see panels with your chosen widgets IN THE APP. This would give you more reason to open the app and would be a nice little dashboard to display various different sensor data.
- Apple Watch complications. This would be awesome, the ability to add any sensor as an Apple Watch complication. There’s another app that does this well, Myatmo, but that only works with Netatmo weather data. SensorKit could do the same thing for all HomeKit sensors. Or at least those that make sense on Apple Watch, such as temperature.
I notice the app hasn’t been updated for 9 months, so I really hope it’s still being supported and the developer can implement the improvements suggested above to make this an excellent 5 star app.
Keep up the good work.
