Ratings and Reviews
Shocking
I fly with Ryanair at least 6 times a year, I never pay for a seat or luggage as I have a house in Spain but also as a protest to Michael Ryan’s extortionist business practices.
On our last trip I was unable to check in on line despite uninstalling and reuploading app as directed by Ryanair’s chatbot online. I ended up missing the online check in deadline and had to check in at the airport. I was made to pay the €55 fine for each of us as I hadn’t any proof that I had tried to check in online. I then had to go to the ticket office to pay my €55 fine to be told the fine would be payable in GBP as we were in the UK.
I then went back to check in to be told the flight had been overbooked and there was no seat for me. Eventually I was allocated a seat at the gate and got on the flight but by this time the start of my short break had been ruined by stress but also been £110 lighter in my bank.
I will NOT be flying Ryanair again, the extra costs actually mean that the flight is more expensive than his competitors and also the cost to sanity and stress levels are not worth any monetary savings.
Shame on you Michael Ryan, I hope all your wronged customers vote with their feet like I am doing.
I hate Ryanair
I never write reviews on anything so this is how you know ryanair has really aggravated me, firstly they keep asking me to pay £10 to select a standard seat even when I asked for random seat selection for free, and now I want to check in 9hrs before my flight, but they won’t let me check in because I haven’t purchased the standard seat for £10, when they specified I could get a random one for free. I’ve also booked 3 other tickets for my friends to come with me and only when it was time to check in they decided to tell me that they have to print their boarding passes from the Ryanair website as they can’t use the online one. They also said I could bring 2 cabin bags for £20 per flight so I thought that meant 2 cabin suitcases but turns out it means a suitcase + a backpack which is so misleading, so we thought me and my friend would be able to bring 2 suitcases together and now one of us is left without a suitcase. I understand that is partly my fault but why would you not specify that we’re paying £20 for just the extra 10kg suitcase, as the backpack can be brought for free anyway in any flight, so calling the backpack a cabin bag is unnecessary. EasyJet never gave me this much of a headache as much as ryanair is, now the app has crashed and it’s not letting me even check in. Never again Ryanair. You just wanna rinse the money out of us. Why you making me pay for a seat for £10 when I’ve already paid £160 for the flight, what a joke. I hate capitalism.
Mobile app recommendation and comment
I have downloaded the application first time on iPhone. It is working pretty well however time out is very short to read through all the information and policies to agree with. If you properly read terms and conditions and you click agree usually application times out already. Picture of the food is 20 times bigger than icon of your boarding pass or check in icon.
The most important information is hard to find and least important items are glorified and highlighted.
The app works pretty well and smooth but many pages do not have cancel button. For example if I go to change my seat it’s not clear that I will be charged £6 additional fee even if I already paid £20 to choose my seat. It will let me happily go to the area where I can change the seat. Only there I see it will cost me £6. And also there is no back or cancel button. I had to use the arrow in the left top corner to go to back home. I am 90% positive it is designed purposely like that to confuse people. And pay more money. I don’t mind to pay for additional services for very cheap ticket although my £13 ticket cost me at the end £160 :-) but that’s all good. But application should treat a human being professionally and with dignity and not treat me in patronising way.
