Questionable App
This app just feels like a way for tech support teams to shift the blame from their faulty goods to the customer.
After working perfectly for several months my light panels failed to re-pair with their app after being unplugged for just a few hours whilst making changes to my office.
When everything was pointing towards a faulty controller, tech support finally used this app to diagnose the problem and of course blamed my router/wifi settings, yet my router hadn’t moved or been disconnected and nothing had changed with my router/wifi settings. Everything else on my smart network continued to function normally when plugged back in except the light panels, which as I stated, had worked previously.
No feedback is given to the customer regarding what data is collected. At the very least, the data log should automatically be sent to the customer first via the app so that they can decide if they want to share it with support.
No transparency so it’s hard to trust it
I was asked to use this app to diagnose a problem with a Phillips smart bulb. They came back to me and said there were too many WiFi networks competing for channels in the house. Three phones and a laptop can’t detect any other WiFi networks at all, so how does this app which is running on my phone claim to detect so many?
In light of the fact I can’t see the results, and no other devices on my network are having problems, I have to go with the majority here and say this app doesn’t work.
A Teflon shoulder app for tech support
Was asked to download this app to aid diagnosis for troublesome smart lamp not fully pairing to their mobile app. Much like other reviews tech support said problem was with my poor 2.4 WI-FI signal on my UniFi APs.
Funny thing was that my network was seeing the device, I could ping the device and once booted Home Assistant could see and control the device. Luckily I’m not relying on the smart device manufacturers app.
Probably nothing wrong with this app just their customers.
