Crashes on update

Great to see a replacement for the old app, looks the part too. The first thing it wants to do is update the bike to the latest software - ok, fair enough but after 10 attempts I’m at downloading this over both WiFi and 4G it won’t get past 4% progress.

I’ve tried restarting the phone, reloading the app, restarting the bike, removing and reinstalling the bike battery and tried a different phone.

Any suggestions giant ?
Thanks

Edit 2 weeks after initial review.

I had to take the bike to the local giant retail store to get them to update the software. This was done efficiently during the 2nd lockdown for £10.
App now works but is of limited use.

Power levels can be changed as before and this works well.

Issues I have discovered so far.

1. You need to be connected to your bike to plan a route. Bit of a pain if the bike is in the shed and you want to sit in the house to plan a ride for the following day.
2. The directions for navigation are no longer sent to the ride control screen. This was a nice touch on the previous app so the phone can stay in your pocket.
3. Can’t edit a route while you are currently in one. You need to finish and save that ride then start a new one. That in turn doesn’t give a true picture to your day’s ride
4. Link to Strava upload works occasionally but sometimes doesn’t upload anything.
4. The post ride review graphs are unreadable if the info goes above the scale.

Cuckoopoo ,

Ridecontrol

The app stopped recording the distance travelled mid ride. Since then, and after several updates, uninstalls, reinstalls it still won’t show distance travelled. This prevents the ride from being saved. The bike shows total miles no problem. The app show speed and ride time. Why wont it show distance ?
Sine it won’t record the ride now it’s pretty much useless. I can just use the screen on the bike!

Speed display issue

I have had no problems with this app for the last 2 years when I installed it to use with my iPhone 12 and Giant FastRoad E + 2 bike. It has been useful and performed exactly as advertised.
However when I used it today, no speed or odometer readings were displayed. Bluetooth connectivity was fine as the app reported no issues with motor, controls etc when I scanned.
I think my bike speed sensor is ok as the e power cut off at about 15mph as normal.
Any suggestions please?
