Retro Highway 9+

I don’t know why this game has quickly grown to be probably one of my favourite games ever on iOS but it has. The controls, genuine looking retro graphics and diverse soundtrack has kept me going non stop. I will admit some minor things though, I do wish on the challenges that there was a count down to what I have yet to collect (eg: do 7 roof landings in single race. 5 to go) and also some Tony layout issues on the pause menu with regard Resume and Main Menu kinda needing to be swapped for more instinctual game play. But bar that I couldn’t recommended this game enough!

I have zero complaints about this game, but if I’m being picky I’d like to get rid of that little stutter the first time you crash the bike. If this game could be improved at all I would like to see some additional music, maybe one or two new tracks to listen to just for added variety. And how about this... you press the left / right buttons together to pop a wheelie (press them both again to cancel it) which reduces your handling slightly and earns you coins, like 1 coin every 2 seconds. You might want to add skippable challenges for that too... anyway great game. Would love to see a ‘Retro Highway II’ which has slightly improved graphics and some new features to make things interesting!

P.S. This game doesn’t ask for a lot of money to be enjoyed fully and is worth every penny.

The game itself is a pretty good racer (maybe not quite the Super Hang On it would like to be) but enough challenges during game to keep it interesting. There are a few bugs (on the iPhone 6S anyway). After the first in game ad the game mutes so no music or sound effects (though strangely enough the next ad does have sound then once you’re back in the game it’s silent again) and the controls require you to tap exactly on the direction arrows this area should be expanded as the area is quite small and you can often crash because you miss the direction arrow. Last grumble are the ads frequently once they finish there is no option to leave the ad so you have to force quit the game (final fantasy I’m looking at you!)

Hopefully these will be fixed in the next update then I’ll consider buying the ad free version and update the star review as it could be a great game 😄
