Originated in China, Mahjong is a rich game of strategy that you can learn and start playing in minutes!
Like many card games (e.g. gin rummy), mahjong is about drawing a tile and discarding a tile while collecting sets.
All you need in Mahjong is to assemble 4 sets of 3 tiles and one pair.
Sets can be a sequence of 3 tiles (called chow) or 3 tiles of a kind (called pung).
Red Mahjong is an online game, so an Internet connection is required. WIFI connection is not strictly necessary - Red Mahjong will play well even with slow 3G connection.
Red Mahjong app automatically reconnects you if your connection gets lost.
Moves are timed. If moves are not made in the allotted time, a standard pick-and-discard move will be made for you.

Great Product
Initially I found that the app with crash and hang mid app, and was close to uninstalling it - however, I am glad I didn’t because after a restart of the device, the re-curing problem has never happened again - so I guess there was some issue with my wireless, that a restart sorted out. What I love about this app is the ease by which I can play Mahjong with friends with virtually! If you are into Mahjong then I cant recommend this app enough!
Decent app
This app is good because it shows symbols and Arabic numerals at the same time( which is good for me as I do not speak Chinese!) however I have a few major nitpicks with this app. Firstly there is a time restriction for turns which may be good for some but not for me as it does not give me enough time to think during my turn, If you do not discard a tile in the SIX! seconds of your turn then it automatically discards the tile on the far right of your hand which is quite annoying. Secondly, sometimes it doesn’t discard the tile that I select and double tap on to remove, this I a major problem as it got rid of an essential tile to my hand. I guess this is just a glitch but I’m not sure.
Thirdly, it does not seem to offer me games with real people but just bots,and the multiplayer was the whole reason that I got the game as there are not many other multiplayer mahjong games out there. This is a tad annoying for me, and I have not been able to find the friends feature.
But I like the 3D or 2D feature and the many menus and preference settings.
Over all a good app but a few things let it down. I would sort of recommend this app but there are better apps out there.

The layout is very nice and unique. It supports most popular variations, Hong Kong, Richii and my favorite and easiest to learn is Red Mahjong!!
