Ratings and Reviews
Almost a Great App
It’s actually really useful, to be able to check your achievement status, while you’re in the game. Looking at your progress in detail and figuring out your next move, helps committed players work out their strategy, without interrupting the game by having to pause all the time.
Sadly, however, the most useful part of the app, THE MAP, which would be the biggest help, and is probably the very REASON most players would download it, is the ONE THING you CAN’T access; at least, not without resetting your internet to dangerously un-secure settings. And, to do that, is a complicated process in itself.
Rockstar: Is there no patch or update that would fix this issue? Are you guys looking into it at all? This would have been a 5 Star, Free App, if not for this issue. Lose one Star for that: No Map. Lose another for the fact that it’s there, tantalising and frustrating the player, each time you use the App.
Pretty good - when it works
As far as companion apps go, this one is pretty good. The included manual and the optional strategy guide are both fantastically useful and the strategy guide is well worth the asking price in my opinion.
The only gripes I have with this app are that the in-game pairing map simply does not work for me - it worked once when I first played the game but has never worked since. Done all sorts of troubleshooting and had no luck, so I’m assuming this is some sort of bug? I appreciate that it works flawlessly for many people, but there are plenty others who are having the same issues with connecting to the game, even when the console and mobile device are on the same WiFi network.
Also, I’m not a massive fan of the fact that some portions of the app open and launch in web browser - can it not all be kept within the app? Nobody wants to be redirected to a webpage when you’ve downloaded an app - because the entire reason I downloaded the app was kind of to AVOID the website, right???
All in all, decent app but the impaired functionality is a bit of a downer.
Great app
I think this is a great app, everything you need for while you play and if you’re out you can look up stuff in the strategy guide (if you’ve paid £9.99 for it) everything else is free on it though. it’s a shame I couldn’t find it on the google play store so I could see it on the tablet with a bigger screen as it’s on a phone it’s small and zooming in is annoying when it’s very sedative to switch pages, also very very very annoying you can’t search up a page number from the index so you either scroll to page 300 or whenever if find something closer and scroll to it, I’d personally recommend getting the guide as a book rather than the app unless you have a large iPad
