Rain Bird 4+

So far - I am impressed with the rain bird controller and sprinklers. The Wi-Fi dongle has to have a full Wi-Fi signal to work at 2.4 GHX to work. Which was a problem for our set up initially. We had to buy other Wi-Fi extender that had to right next to rain bird control unit. It would have been easier for use to pug and cat 5 cable into controller . Most internet base devices give you the option either Wi-Fi or hard wired. As we all know the better option is hard wired - Cheers Nick

Ihave recently installed the ESP-RZXe controller (I did it all myself, very easy to do) I am really liking the reliability of having the valves connected to power rather than batteries. I have previously used Hozelock cloud controllers but the batteries don’t seem to last five minutes. When your away a lot it is not very practical. They whole Rain Bird system is working like a charm. I had no issues setting it up and have had no issues with connectivity etc. The only “disappointment” I have is with the App. I don’t like how when you open the app it has to get the settings and schedule from the controller. When you want to pause watering for a day or more you have to do all zones, you can just select which ones you want, one of my zones is covering the orchid house which needs watering even if it’s been raining, with list last problem that also prevents me from using the rain sensor as that also controls all zones. Hey these issues sorted and I think this will be the best system in the world.

I installed a complete rainbird system including the ESP-RZEe controller. The app has lots of options and the ability to adjust settings without going to the hardware. The only shortcoming is having to visit the hardware to switch on / off the auto setting. In the UK it would be nice to have the ability to switch on / off remotely due to our weather.
