pigeongrrl ,

Such an impressive program!

It’s been a long time since I’ve felt strongly enough about an app to leave a review, but Pixquare has far surpassed my expectations of it, and after using it for one piece of art I had to pay for it immediately! Everything about the UX was enjoyable, from the cute pixel interface to the intuitiveness of the tools and menus 😊

At points I had a couple of seconds where I was trying to find something, but compared to the learning experience of other apps I’ve used (e.g., Procreate) these moments were few and far between. As someone who’s moved from more standard digital art to pixel art in the last few months, having a program wholly created for pixel art first and foremost has been a game changer (e.g., the art resize function when exporting - genius! On Procreate I would have to draw at a standard pixel art scale and then manually copy and paste different layers into a sized-up canvas and then use a calculator to figure out precise resizing - I may have been making that harder than it needed to be but regardless the process on Pixquare in comparison was so easy!)

I also have to say how amazing it is that this app appears to have been built by a lone dev, truly the passion he has for Pixquare shines through, and I can’t wait to see what features and other improvements come through over time 🤩

Finally, it’s really good that people get a chance to try the full program out before committing to paying for it - more should do this!

The Best

Coming from Aseprite on PC, to drawing on my iPhone/iPad with Pixquare, it’s absolutely phenomenal. Has all you need to make professional level pixel art from the comfort of a portable device. I particularly enjoy editing my colours on the go with indexed mode - such a time saver and makes the creative process more efficient. The app has never crashed and it runs so smoothly. The creator is open to discussing new features, which is really personable and gives the already awesome app so much more potential in the future. 5*!

Good app

I recently got an iPad for art and tried all the popular pixel art apps. This one was by far the best and easiest to use. The other apps I found difficult to import images or they would crash or be buggy. This one didn’t have any bugs as far as I could tell. The only thing is that the layer system is not as intuitive as it could be.

Developer Response ,

Hi Gjgdryguu,
Thank you for the 5-star. I really appreciate it. As for the layer system, you can always join Pixquare's Discord to ask questions or browsing Pixquare's user guide: https://docs.pixquare.art/
