Could be better

The user interface is very good and productive.
But while testing the German->English version, I frequently stumble upon words missing in the dictionary (even in the paid version). The latest in a long list is “Anschreiben". That is disappointing.
I would recommend trying this app for a good while to make sure it lists all the words that you need translation for.

Does not use British English

I downloaded this free French-English (and Spanish and German) dictionary as my bible, Wordreference is not available for macbooks, or at least I couldn't find it in the app store.

It looked sleek and easily to get around, and I even like the touch of the Union Flag next to the English words, but I soon found out that the use of English in the dictionary is U.S. English. This may seem trivial to many, but I am British and expect (what is to me) a correct use of language. That is not to say I am saying U.S. English is incorrect, at least not to Americans, but the English I use is standard and we should be catered for. Apple and many third party apps have a huge market in the U.K. (and other countries that use British English) and so I deem foreign spelling unacceptable.

Not good enough for language students

I’m studying French in university and wanted to download this app to save me from having to bring my huge French-English dictionary with me whenever I go home for the weekends. This app is really not that helpful unless you just want to learn a few simple common French words. Even with that, there aren’t a lot of words available to look up. There is no feature where you can type in a French word to try to find the English translation, this was a waste of my time.
