Omniscient - AR VR Camera VFX 4+

If you are a 3d artist I can tell you this app is a game changer, you can track a scene and also scan it its made vfx so much easier, plus the creators are always there to help and support via instagram or email, great job guys!! I recommend the premium version as it’s so cheap!!

I’ve been looking for a cross between similar movie recording tracking apps and the Black Magic Cam app and am thinking I’ve found it in Omniscient.
I’ve only shot a couple of tests so far but I am super impressed.
I’m not sure what the roadmap is but some features I would love are:
Motion smoothing for cinematic recording
3D mesh import of low poly models for proxy lineups.
The ability to choose the other cameras.
A simple chroma keyer and garage tool.

I think this will still be my app of choice thanks to its ability to record ProRes 24fps UHD and full control of camera settings like iso, focus and white balance.

Thanks for your review! Importing 3D models is on our roadmap, and we might add a chroma keyer as well.

Regarding motion smoothing, using sensor stabilization isn't possible at the moment, but we're working on an alternative. Additionally, performing camera tracking with the other cameras isn't feasible due to external limitations, but we hope to add this feature in the future.

This is great, super fast to use can airdrop the files directly to my laptop!

(Using iPhone 13 Pro with LIDAR)

The scanning is very fast but not super accurate approx 5cm resolution, similar to “Pollycam” lidar scan but without textures.

Tracking is extremely fast to process. But not super accurate. Just a guess but I would say the sliding similar to a “solve error” (blender) or “deviation” (3DE4) of approx 5-10 px. But with no big jumps or glitches. And is very robust to new objects moving around in frame!

Improvements I would love to see.

Tracking refinement feature. I feel like most of the tracking is being done using IMU and LIDAR data. It would be cool if there was a way to take the solved camera and run it through a traditional pixel based pattern searching point track like 3DE4 or Blender. But using the existing camera as a base.
Lens switching for iPhones with multiple focal lengths.
LIDAR scan textures.
Timecode sync support. Either using QR code like new GoPros or Maybe by displaying timecode at 120 FPS in big text on a white background so you can slate with your iPhone then mount it on top of a bigger camera.
NERF scan??
