OFX Money Transfer 4+

I have been using OFX probably 4/5 times a year for over 10 years And feel very comfortable, safe & secure with this company. I occasionally check other rates and they have always been competitive.

They continue to be competent quick and easy. I now use the OFX app for iOS.. super easy. I would still like to pay by debit card but this is not available

Registered for OFX after it was recommended as an easy way to transfer money to Taiwan. I attempted to make a payment from my UK bank on Oct 16. As I write this on Nov 1, the payment has still not arrived with the recipient in Taiwan. The initial problem was that OFX failed to meet basic requirements for providing my full information, which they had, to the recipient’s bank. On the second attempt, OFX once more did not supply the information in full and so it was rejected again. I’ve spent many hours on the phone with customer service who seem to suggest that there is nothing they can do. Frankly, I expected their “OFXperts” to have a better grasp of the basic requirements of international transfers and to be more flexibility and resourceful when resolving issues like this. Even if my transfer actually goes through - at this moment I have little confidence that it will - I have no intention of using OFX again.

Very disappointed with this app from an FX service I have always been pleased with. I have just downloaded the app on my iPad Air and tried to check some rate histories. Not obvious at first how to select the currency pair I wanted, but sorted that out by trial & error. Viewing the graph was very difficult and frustrating, though, as many attempts were needed to touch the screen in just the right place to be able to scroll the graph to see the whole thing plus captions. Couldn’t rotate to landscape mode either. Gave up the struggle in the end and will look for another app. This is potentially a useful tool, but a lot more work is needed to make it user-friendly.
