Good but could be great
Recently added Apple Pay makes this a bit more useful. However the app is cluttered, I’m never going to use the Octopus brand wallet, transaction lists should be front and center and finally cannot add the same card to iPhone, Apple Watch and keep the physical card. I know some information is stored offline on the card to speed up the processing but why is it so difficult to centralise it? Now I need to have 3 cards and 3 AAVS setup just for it to be flexible.
Top-up always fail
This app is a scam. Top up always fails but money is already charged and not refunded. This has happened multiple times already. For an e-payment system most popular in Hong Kong, this is clearly unacceptable. The fact that the Octopus card can only be linked to one Apple device is also highly inconvenient for the users. This app only deserves a 2 stars even if they fixed the top-up problem. Nobody would want to use this if this is not the largest payment method in HK. Horrible user experience.
