Description
Send push notifications to your phone from any Bash or PowerShell script, or from your own app using PUT/POST requests, e.g. via curl on Linux or Invoke-WebRequest.
ntfy is a client for https://ntfy.sh, a free and open source HTTP-based pub-sub service. You can subscribe to topics in this app, and then publish messages via a simple HTTP API.
Uses:
* Notify yourself when a long-running process is done
* Ping your phone when a backup has failed
* Alerts when someone logs into your server
Example:
$ curl -d "Your backup is done" ntfy.sh/mytopic

What’s New
Version 1.3
This release (hopefully) fixes a few of the UI inconsistencies around messages not being shown or live updated. There are more updates to come, but I wanted to get this one out asap.

Simple to use, lots of configuration options available — a really handy tool to have around. Love the fact there’s no login/registration, it just works. Thanks!
Great idea but ios app needs work
It seems the notifications will only display if the app is open in the foreground at the time they're sent, rendering it useless for any real application. Also they only appear as a temporary badge, never in the drop down notification drawer or on the lock screen, even though these are enabled in the settings
