Description

NPACE AR uses groundbreaking technology to present digital medical education that
mimics real life. NPACE enhances educational offerings for advanced practice clinicians of all levels and specialties with experiential modules that have visual, auditory and participatory features. The development of augmented reality (AR) modules in women’s health and cardio-pulmonary medicine provides a novel approach that immerses the learner fully into the human anatomy, the clinical experience and problem-solving. Our goal is to positively advance clinical understanding, improve clinical practice and positively affect patient outcomes while offering a stimulating, enriching and innovative digitally enriched educational experience like no other.

How it Works

Cardiac Health

There are three sections to the NPACE AR Cardiac Health Asset: Case Studies, Heart Labeling and EKG Audio.

Case Studies will guide the user through practice patient scenarios complete with diagnostic questions. Users will study patient medical history, read EKGs and make diagnostic recommendations.

Heart Labeling provides users an opportunity to review all components of the cardiac anatomy, identifying the structure of the heart through practice exercises, as well as the ability to manipulate and 3D-view and navigate the human heart in AR.

To activate the augmented reality heart, “place” the 3D model by tapping on the screen at the prompt. You can rotate the 3D heart using a single finger, or resize it using two fingers to pinch it larger or smaller.

Lastly, EKG Audio provides users the opportunity to listen to a library of unique heart sounds, matching sounds to defined cardiac rhythms. For effective listening, earbuds or earphones will be necessary.

Women’s Health

The Women’s Health Asset enables viewing of a 3D model of the female reproductive system in AR. Click on “Women’s Health” and “place” the 3D model by tapping on the screen at the prompt. You can rotate the 3D image using a single finger, or resize it using two fingers to pinch it larger or smaller. Tap on the anatomical parts of the image to identify.
