NHS Wales App 12+

Only as good as your GP practice

All I can do with this app is order prescriptions and see my previous medications and vaccines. I’m sure it could do much more but there is little incentive for GP surgeries in Wales to make full use of it. I’m sure if their remuneration package was linked to using all of its features things would improve overnight!

My English friends seem to be able to do pretty much everything on their equivalent app. They can book appointments, see test results receive appointment correspondence etc. I’m not quite sure Wales is still living in the dark ages yet again.

I think the developers have done a reasonably good job with this app. It’s how it’s being used by the NHS that’s the problem.

Good first impressions

I've been using My Health Online for a little while now. At first, it wasn't working at all, but then it started to work well.
Today, I received a note stating that my prescription will now be managed through this app. I must say, I'm pleasantly impressed by the app. It was super easy to log in to my NHS account, and all the information on the app was accurate and clearly presented.
My only complaint would be the overall aesthetics of the NHS Welsh stuff in the app; it could be better, i.e, some of the pop up parts required you to scroll and the ‘continue’ button wasn’t visible at first (a minor issue really). However, it serves its purpose and is easy to read and navigate. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.

A barrier to medical care

Frustrating app to use. Will not work when ip protection is on. Needs to have facilities to contact, all health professionals within the group practice, at all times for GP and specialist nurses. App should enhance and improve access not hinder. Telephone service is cumbersome and frustrating when it hangs up without notice.
So an app should circumvent this, but being unable to book diabetic, respiratory and other specialties nurse led services is frustrating. A better dashboard for communication and direction to treatment is needed. Being able to leave a message for someone to read and coordinate a reply would improve outcomes. I’ve tried online and by telephone to get help for my care. Waiting for 20 minutes or more to speak to a human who cares what you want, is frustrating. Please improve accessibility to all medical professionals within the group.
