Put my pic through the app (a close up selfie taken last month - April 2022) and my wife’s comment upon seeing it? Not “Oh, you look SO handsome for a 69 year old” or “that’s a lovely pic” instead, she says, “it’s knocked YEARS off you”???? A back handed compliment I suppose, I’m grateful for small mercies these days.

Anyway, I think the app is brilliant, and I also loved the template used as a backdrop to the image.

Dare I say it, the best app of it’s type I’ve seen for a long while, which produces an impressive end result. Try it, I believe you’ll be impressed too.

3. Because if I gave 5 stars I’d be lying about how good the app is . The potential I see. This app has great potential. Pro’s and con’s I see;-

Pro’s;

1. It’s free, has in app purchases that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY

2. Download your pictures straight to your phone.

3. Multiple different amazing filters to blow your mind away with any beautiful picture.

4. Can make a picture look very smooth.

5. You can change the background of the filter you have chosen

Con’s;

1. Some pictures you put in crop out half the picture so if you want 2 people in it may just cut out the other half

2. There’s a certain filter at the end that makes you look like a $2 animated clown it’s disgusting.

3. You can change the background of the filter but you CAN’T change the colour of said background to what you like.

4. Always watermarked unless payment is made

5. Could use better face recognition to bring out a little bit better facial features(referring to the last filter as it’s absolutely outrageous how disgusting it screws up your face).

Although to quality of the avatars is high, the app is now just the same as so many other AI apps. The older version was more “art based” with an incredible variation in avatar design - and one that not only kept up with holidays (Easter, Halloween etc) but gave you a large number of images to pic from. The new version features lots of airbrushed, wavy haired, muscular “supermodel” variations that have little bearing to what the user (who might be bald, fat, curly haired, old, ultra thin or whatever) actually looks like in ‘real life’. As such, despite obvious technical advancements, it’s actually a step back from the popular format it used to use. A shame really, as it WAS a unique app but now is just one of many. Again, it’s ok…but it used to be so much better (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it).
