The New Living Translation was founded on the most recent scholarship in the theory of translation, with the goal of communicating the meaning of the ancient Bible texts as accurately as possible to the modern reader.

It seeks to preserve the freshness and readability of the original paraphrase while providing the accuracy and reliability of a translation prepared by a team of 90 biblical scholars.

Quality of Translation:

The translators took on the challenge of producing a text that would have the same impact in the life of today's readers as the original text had for the original readers. The method employed to reach this goal in the New Living Translation, was to translate entire thoughts (instead of just words) into natural, everyday English. Therefore the NLT is a thought for thought, rather than word for word (literal) translation. As a result, it is easy to read and understand, while correctly conveying the original meaning of text.

Great app

Nice and easy to use. There is a small glitch with the index bar when I select it. It does not display the chapters correctly on my iPad mini and I cannot select the first row of verses due to them being covered by the previous chapter heading. I hope this makes sense?
Also, can you allow swiping to move forward and backwards instead of the forward and back buttons?
Two tiny gripes in an otherwise great app.

NLT bible

It a very good app and keeps my attention but the only thing that I would change is the background sounds because it is a little too loud.

Too be able to turn the pages easier without having to go to the top of the page to do it
