Description
The myMerlinPulse™ app is designed to provide remote monitoring capability of your Abbott Bluetooth®-enabled implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) or cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (CRT-D) to your healthcare provider. The app uses Bluetooth® wireless technology to transfer your heart rhythm information between the device, the app, and your clinic. The app’s user-friendly interface allows you to:
- Check if your heart device is connected and ready for remote monitoring.
- View the history of transmissions.
- Get information about your cardiac device, including its battery status.
- Send manual transmissions to your healthcare provider.
- Receive notifications if there has been a significant change in the performance of your implanted device.
The app uses an internet connection through a Wi-Fi or cellular network to send information about your implanted heart device to your healthcare provider. Your information is encrypted to ensure the privacy and security of the transmission.
The app is intended for use by people who have an Abbott implanted heart device and access to a mobile device. The app will only function once paired with your implanted device. Do not rely on the app during a medical emergency. If you experience a medical emergency, seek medical attention immediately.
This app is not currently supported on tablet devices. Please note that this product is intended for use by or under the direction of a physician. Is it working all the time?
Had my ICD fitted in June, and started to immediately use this app on iPhone. I was instructed to have it running in the background at all times, and have been doing so. It was working well for a couple of months, and then it started to appear differently in the background, when you see your open apps, and it’s a little like a hand of cards, the image wasn’t the same as usual, it didn’t have the main screen, just the boundaries, and it had a large black rectangle just above centre? Is it still working like this, or do I have to go into it to “wake” it? One morning when “waking” it it then crashed, and I reopened the app, the app acted like I’d just downloaded it, and was asking for my DoB and the Serial No for the device! I now keep the serial number on me so I don’t get caught out like this again. I’m not sure it’s functioning when it goes into this sleep like state in the background, because it crashed like this I’m not sure it is? It will go to sleep like this several times a day.

pairing
pairing the device is nearly impossible had to get another phone and move it frame by frame it needs to be sorted out

Exceeded attempts
Updated phone to IOS17.7 and now the app doesn’t work. It is no longer paired and states I have exceeded attempts. I have trying to call the uk number since Tues & all U get is an answerphone or a message saying we are closed. I left my details at 8am this morning & no one has come back to me my device has been down over 24 hrs now and I can’t try again for another 15hrs
What use is that if no one answers or calls you back.
Very disappointed. Terrible service!!
