My Collection: Comic Scanner 12+

A really great and useful App for comic collectors but sadly (at the moment) is rather unstable. I’ve catalogued over 2000 comics so far, which is good, but now progress is randomly held up by the app refusing to launch properly until it decides it wants to. This can take minutes or hours so any progress in further cataloguing is sporadic at best. The loading screen will show but instead of going to the homepage the screen will flash white and the app tries to relaunch but all the visible writing is cramped up and the IOS bar overlay is thrown into the mix. This repeats until it either loads properly or I give up and watch paint dry instead. Shame……so promising.

Edit: Rarely loads at all now but the couple of times it actually has worked I was surprised to discover comics in “my collection” that I neither owned nor scanned.
What the **** is going on with this app?

I’ve had to actually reboot and actually reinstall about 4 times now. Thought I’d take the time to make a report as it may happen again. Otherwise I’ve been really excited about the software. I’m not sure if there is bugs still needing to be worked out in development or could be my high volume collection of comics that’s possibly taking a toll?

I hope the issues of the software is resolved as it’s a great tool and assets for collectors. This is the future of trading and collecting and selling for comic book collectors

This is actually a pretty cool app.

The problem is it’s quite buggy. Occasionally, it’ll stop working completely. When that happens, the only fix is to uninstall and reinstall it. I’ve had to do this at least 4-5 times already. As long as you remember your login, everything is stored in the cloud, so you’re fine. Still this is super-annoying. Either the developers get a grip or they need to be replaced by a more competent team.

The app (or website) needs to offer a collection export feature that allows you to download a CSV with your entire collection data. Most collectors will not want to invest the time of building their collection on the platform if they risk losing it when the company goes under.

Finally there are a few gaping holes in the database: two notable examples I’ve come across: there is no pricing data for any of the Gen13 comics (Image) or the American Judge Dredd comics (Eagle). These are not particularly obscure - that’s got to be fixed.
