Description
MitID is your digital ID. You use it when you want to log in, sign digitally and approve actions in various self-service solutions. If you need to approve on your mobile or tablet, you do it with a single swipe in the app. To authenticate on your computer, scan a QR code.
ACTIVATE YOUR MITID
You can activate your MitID in your app by scanning your passport/ID card or with an activation code from Borgerservice. If you have a new mobile, you can copy your MitID from your old app.
IN THE APP YOU CAN ALSO...
Check your user ID and change the mobile number you use for MitID.
HAVE A SPARE MITID
Having an extra MitID is a good idea. If you happen to lose your mobile with the app on it, you can still use MitID.
Read here how to do it: MitID.dk/reserve
MORE INFORMATION
You can get MitID from the age of 13.
MitID has been developed by The Agency for Digital Government and Finance Denmark – on behalf of the public and financial sectors.

What’s New
Version 3.5.0
If you get a new phone, you can activate MitID by downloading the app and then copying your MitID from the old to the new app. You just scan a QR code in the old app with your new phone. To prevent fraud, you will be prompted to enable Bluetooth to ensure that both phones are in your possession.
In this release, a significant portion of the app has been translated into Greenlandic. We have also added the option to switch sounds on/off along with other minor fixes.
Ratings and Reviews
Rubbish
I have been using NemID without any issues for the last five years. Then it switched to MitID. I am not working in Denmark but working for Danish companies. However as I am not Danish citizen and don’t have CPR number, they said that I need P-code. So i got it then I scanned my face and my passport photo with this app, but it didn’t work. I tried 100 times but it has never worked. I called MitID. They told me to try with different angles, with natural sunlight etc… Nothing worked. They said that I need to go to Citizen service centre in Denmark with a witness. So I called citizen service centers but all they say is they cannot give me MitID even though I get there because I am not Danish and not working in Denmark. I have no idea how to get MitID access even though I have been using NemID for 5 years. Then i cannot get MitID. What shall I do? I don’t understand why this app doesn’t match faces with photos. MitID really need to make a way how to give people access. I really need a support. Please help.
Poor design, support and rollout
This is an example I wi be using on how not to do digitalization. The app is full of errors- and over 100 attempts later have not succeeded, yet is critical as the only way to access pensions and bank accounts. I finally called support who said if your name uses a letter, such as a hyphen, it does not work. The only solution is to visit the borger service physically in Denmark-which is not open at weekends, and not very useful for those living outside of Denmark. It appears an intern developed this - did not bother to test and can’t be bothered to write known issues on their site- waving users frustrated and locked out of their accounts. I will use this for my teaching as how not to do digitalization of critical services.
MitID
I have spent two hours, now four counting one more day trying to register, no luck got as far as scanning my face and now I have a blank page, the picture was a bit scary but not that bad. Conks out same place every time ,don’t know what to do now but reading other reviews others are having same problems! Why does the app support not have any help? You get sent to a page that can’t find what you are looking for, the page doesn’t exist. To be honest I’m losing the will to carry on, but my bank will not communicate with me unless I get this! I’m writing a review as this seems to be the only way or not to get some help!
