At last…a game with no ads!!
As I enjoy Midsomer, thought I’d give this a go. What a joy to play a game that doesn’t include ads every 2 minutes!! And it’s a nice change to do the word games rather than the tired old “matching blocks” format. And you don’t have to spend loads of money to progress. The only downside is that progression is very slow…you only have 6 teapots, so play 6 word games, to earn 6 points…using 2 each time you examine something or talk to someone, so your actual progression through the game is slow. Of course, I understand that it’s so you will buy more life, and rather that than annoying adverts, so that’s the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars.
A nice brain out of gear game
When you first try to load the game it tends to freeze, then can take a minute or two to load, if you are lucky, before entering the game. It is a simple idea, solve the scrambled words and gain badges to solve the crime. You don’t actually have to solve or accuse anyone, the game decides. The words are fed into a grid, with extras available, though how they find as many as they claim is beyond me. For example you may be given toffee as a word and they say that there are 25 words to be made (this is a made up example but similar in theory) with some words so obscure they are not in the English dictionary. It is fun but not really brain tingling. Four stars
Potential for greatness!
Love the concept and the game play but the lag in the scenes waiting for the task (hand/character) to show is a little overlong. I’m happy to watch ads to gain extras but either the game just craps out everytime I watch one or I don’t get the goodies and then it craps out anyway. It’s very stop and start because of these issue which is a tad frustrating. I’ll persevere though because there is definitely potential for this to be a good game.
Update: issues with lag and game crapping out appear to have been resolved. Love playing this, especially the word puzzles: very relaxing.
