A unique take on the classic acid bassline sound. The Mi-03 is an instrument that revitalises the classic 303 sound for today's music producers. (AUv3)
Standalone synthesizer and AUv3 plugin for iPad music production with AUM or any software that supports AUv3 plugins.
Now includes the sequencer component as a separate additional AUv3 plugin so you can use the sequencer to control any of your other favourite AUv3 instruments (using an AUv3 compatible host application such as Logic or AUM).
The Mi-03 is an instrument that revitalizes the classic 303 sound for today's music producers.
At it's core, the Mi-03 is a simple subtractive monophonic synthesiser. A long list of features might sound good on paper, but too many options can stifle creativity. The Mi-03 doesn't try to do everything. Important design decisions have been made, but with just enough creative control to craft your own unique sound.

It does what it says on the tin
Having some presets would help, but other than that the app strikes a nice balance between simplicity and flexibility. It is fun and sounds good.

Can sound like a tb-303 but…
Desperately needs presets to demonstrate its ability.
It’s harder to dial in a sweet spot compared to a real 303 due to separate filter and amp envelopes.
The sequencer is not immediately obvious in operation but has 3 modes; on, slide, off along the top of the sequencer.
The distortion is welcome but unsatisfying and the square wave is particularly weak (but the saw wave can sound good). I’ll personally stick with Pure Acid by Jim Audio. Nice try…

EDIT: The latest version (v1.4) includes some presets. And hopefully the new sequencer UI layout is more intuitive. Let me know what you think.
Hi, thanks for the review. All feedback is really appreciated. There are some presets with the desktop version, and I will include them once I've ported that bit of functionality over to iOS. The files are compatible so you should be able to load them here. I just don't have the preset browser fully working yet on iOS. Unfortunately I haven't made many presets but I've started to collect some good ones. The idea behind this synth was to be inspired by the 303 but not match perfectly. While you can, as you have noticed, get some nice 303-style sounds, the extra sound design options are intended to offer a wider range of possibilities. Look out for future updates.
