Mark O'Travel: Your Travel Log 4+

A good little app! I really like the feature which allows the user to define what counts as a country, such as dividing the UK into four seperate nations. This is often not an option in other similar apps, which as a Welsh person is very irritating. Nice addition with the UNESCO World Heritage Sites checklist, although this curiously doesn’t include the UK for some unknown reason!

With a small purchase it is possible to tick off the regions visited within a particular country. It would be nice to take this a little further maybe with being able to list the cities and towns visited within those places. Another possible improvement would be to allow multiple maps at a given time as I’d like to have my ‘want to visit’ map and my ‘visited’ map seperate.

Otherwise the best app of its kind out there right now!

I’ve tried a few of these World travel apps and this is by far the best.

The ability to mark different countries under user defined categories make it really flexible.

The regions/continents listing and the landscape map colour coded are great.

Shane about the 1 star reviews related to political issues around certain territories - that’s not the apps fault and there are a number of options within the app to expand beyond the UN list or not.

And you can backup your data to files or iCloud.

It’s a free app. And the app doesn’t have any annoying ads. And the in-app purchases are for extra valid maps. Not for critical functionality. And the developer appears to be constantly updating the app.

As another reviewer has stated. The name of the app is a bit naff. But I’m not going to knock of a star for that. Well done to the developer.

I have tried multiple apps like this one but they are tacky and don't feel nice to use. However, this app is extremely easy and the interface looks nice. I love how simply turning your phone gives a full screen map, it's a nice feature.

Despite how great the app is, there is one small improvement that I'd suggest. I think the app's feature of showing the regions within a country is great, but you can only see this once you go into the specific country. I'd suggest there being another mode on the map which shows regions rather than countries, as many places are too large to simply state that one has been there, for example rather than showing that the USA has been visited, highlight Oklahoma, New York, etc.

I hope you consider this tweak as it would be very helpful for me, and I really enjoy the app and am therefore a paying member.
