Magic Poser - Art Pose Tool 12+

Close to perfect!

Im a professional illustrator and use this app often, ive been using it on a 2015 ipad pro for reference and apart from a few niggles it is the best on ipad ive used and a reasonable proce too :) , a few niggles here and there are offset by the overall quality of the app - if i could suggest a few things- (1) the ability to place a marker in place you can jump back to when you have to move about and rearrange stuff and then not been able to find the exact viewpoint you where previously using (2) the ability to have a list of objects in the scene such as man 1, woman 2, bike 1, cylinder 1 etc, to be able to click on and have instant control over rather than accidentally touching one element and pulling it slightly out of pose and having to rearrange it (3) the ability to lock in place your highlighted elements in the list, i.e. keep a figure in place so you can manoeuvre the camera around without worry of pulling it out of place. Anyway, looking forward to seeing what else is added in the future! I also go by dinsdaleart on ig and theres a scene i used this app for of a tombraider-esque girl leaping a canyon on a motorbike that i used as direct reference from a scene i created in this app!

Good but can use tweaking and more items added

This is great for me to create poses to help me draw. You have a large amount of control of your characters position and body parts e.g. can rotate and curl characters fingers to wrap around objects. The main issue I have with this is that I feel it just needs more. I would love more objects like weapons, more furniture, scenes, hair for certain characters (the non anime ones) and I would love to have more customisation of body proportions and facial structure e.g. expressions and eye colour, able to control eyelids. Some issues with trying to select objects to move can be really clunky but other than that it’s a great app if you want to use it to help you make creative poses for art or if you want to just have some fun.

(Great to see the response from the developer saying more is coming. Can’t wait to see the new features when they eventually come out.)

Edit: Thank you for your updated review! Hope you look forward to our next updates! | We are working on more clothing, hair and more but it is just taking time to perfect! We will be adding more customization options, but that is also taking extra time to plan and implement. Eye color and expressions are coming as well, and is our new models will be the first to get them.

Good but….

In 2020 i was using this app almost every day! The game had so many options and making the pose was almost as easy as picking up a feather! But now that I have returned everything is just locked away now. Pretty much everything needs to be paid for through a subscription, even the option to change the gender of the character Im using to pose needs money! The app is great and simple, perfect for young artists to learn about anatomy and progress in their art but almost nothing is free, if you are making updates and figuring out ways to make the app more enjoyable and manageable, i suggest that you should add more features and options for people who don’t want to pay for a subscription. Please make it so that being able to use props or changing the gender of the doll free. If you want my honest opinion, simple options like that shouldn’t be paid for.

In case you didn’t know, as an old user, you will keep all the free models you owned (anime models and old female models included) in the old app, and everything you have bought from our previous Asset Store. Please make sure that you’re logged into the Magic Poser account that you were using previously.

We’d also like to clarify that we have 2 pricing options, Pro and Master mode. Pro is a *one-time purchase* of $9.99 USD and comes with many great features such as 3 additional top-quality models in both realistic and stylized genres, body morphs, unlimited characters in a scene, multiple light setup, completely overhauled 3D editor with layers, grouping, view menu, etc. These are essentially almost all of the features of our app, making it a great deal!

Master mode is a subscription based plan that is priced at $14.99 USD a month and includes unlimited access to our Asset Library (25 characters, 100+ hair and clothing, 500+ props, 3000+ preset poses) and 3D export. The Master version makes the app a fully functioning 3D software and is priced very competitively compared to other 3D software on the market. You can choose whether to subscribe or not based on your needs.


In regards to our new pricing model, we’d like to explain what led to the change in hopes that you will better understand our decision and pricing like hundreds of thousands of users who embraced our change towards a much better Magic Poser. As you’ve remembered, our old app offered many, many things for free, from most of our models, to essentially all of our features, and as a result, we simply weren’t making enough money to keep updating and maintaining the app. Developing and maintaining a high quality 3D app such as this is incredibly time consuming and expensive, especially with a team as small as ours.


As a result, we had to make a change, because if we were to continue using the old pricing system, Magic Poser very likely wouldn’t be here today. It was a difficult process, but we made the right decision this time, as it has helped make our small team financially stable and has allowed us to continue implementing more amazing features and improvements for the app, and for our users like you!
