Luna - Baby Monitor Nanny Cam 4+

Good backup but does not replace a good baby monitor

This app generally works well and I have used it a number of times as a backup when on holiday or when my usual monitor has broken.

It is however a bit buggy still as others have said. I like to leave it streaming the audio during the night but it does seem to stop doing that randomly which is frustrating.

Having said that it definitely works better now than it did a few years ago when I last used it. If they could just sort the last few bugs out it would get 5 stars.

Overall good but now lacking support for premium

I was using the free version of the app for a few months and decided it was worth buying the premium version so I could make more use of the app, run it in the background, etc. I have this setup on my iPhone and iPad.

It can be glitchy from time to time, camera or audio doesn’t stream when it should when monitoring, but generally does the job even needed.

My main issue now is when installing the app on a 2nd iPad. It doesn’t recognise the fact this is already paid for so I’m continuously prompted to upgrade to premium. I then tried to contact the developer through App Store but looks like there is no support currently set up (message appears in German so needed translated). Hopefully this will change sometime soon otherwise I could not recommend the paid/premium version of this app to anyone.

It Works!

I was always a little cynical about the need for us to buy some ridiculously expensive home video monitoring system however, after my daughter was born I love our video monitor. We bought everything possibly needed and our monitor is possibly one of the few items that I’d actually consider essential.

Bought Luna because we’re travelling and wanted a monitor without having to remove our home system.

Honestly, it just works. We’re currently in Iceland. WiFi here is slightly sketchy however, Luna alerts us with about a 2 second delay of our daughter waking up. The 4 sensitivity settings are great, it doesn’t get affected by the white noise we play, but we can be over the other end of our air bnb and still be alerted if our daughter wakes. Video streaming can be a bit hit or miss but assume this is more down to limited bandwidth as, when I tested it at home, this worked with no problems.

There are very few options, simply set up and go. It’s just a really good, seamless app. If you’re reading this far as a parent it’s probably because you want the best. I trust my babies safety and happiness with this app. As a father I can’t really offer any stronger endorsement.
